HTTP 205 – Reset Content
Tells the client to reset the document view, e.g. clear a form after a successful submit.
Common use case
Occasionally used after a successful form submission to instruct the browser to clear the input fields, though most modern apps handle this in JavaScript instead.
Example
HTTP/1.1 205 Reset Content
History
Defined in the original HTTP/1.1 spec, RFC 2068 (1997).
Did you know?
